The journey began in 1985 in Malatya, Turkey—a region known for its world-best apricots.
As a family business, we built our reputation by exporting the finest dried apricots all across Europe, establishing strong relationships and a commitment to quality that set us apart from other companies in this industry. With a vision to expand beyond Europe, we set our sights on the United States. In 1998, we took a bold step forward, beginning to import our premium apricots into the U.S. market. Recognizing the growth potential, we officially established our first importing company in Long Island City, in the year 2000.
As our business flourished, we saw an opportunity to evolve, which led to merging Sunco & Frenchie in the year 2009. Sunco & Frenchie is the continuation of a century-long family legacy in the dried fruits and nuts industry. With deep roots in tradition and a forward-thinking approach, the company quickly made its mark as a leading importer, processor, and distributor of dried fruits, nuts, seeds, and granola.
